Community and Moderator guidelines for escalating issues via new response….On kibana when i try to search or filter on a index that contains documents that has field very large it stores large text file of lines or more I got these error but i dont see any error in logs file kibana or elasticsearch.

I tried to change elasticsearch. The problem might be another timeout caused by sending a lot of data over the network, or caused by parsing a large amount of data. You just pick the index pattern or patterns you're using with that field and add it to the list.

I believe it just adds it as an excludes in the query, but I'm not totally sure. The important part is that you won't be sending or parsing those documents in the request anymore.

But that field is the one i want to explore in kibana. Is there anyway to increase this kibana timeout to handle large documents or that kibana dont try to load all data from documents at same time and only when clicking on one? One way to load less data under Discover would be to change the value of discover:sampleSize under Management - Advanced settings. This is however a global setting. I have been experiencing an issue where occasionally my Kibana stops working stating a time-out trying to connect to elasticsearch as the cause. I have marvel installed.

kibana request timeout

Something like: "plugin:elasticsearch Request Timeout". Usually these go away by the next day, and occasionally I have been able to re-gain access to my data by increasing the timeout on kibana. However I can't figure out how to troubleshoot this issue. I suspect it may be that ES is storing some extremely large individual documents but I cannot find them, there's just too many logs to dig through by hand. My elasticsearch cluster is perfectly healthy green on health checkeven when kibana cannot access it.

Where can I possibly start to try and troubleshoot why we are getting timeouts here? Learn more. Asked 4 years ago. Active 1 year, 7 months ago. Viewed 1k times. Requests work from time to time and then I would get a Discover: Request Timeout after ms. This also happens to me with Elasticsearch 2. I had to restart elasticsearch server but I'm afraid this could happen regularly. I also tried by installing another Kibana with an ElasticSearch acting just as a client node on another server.

The error is still appearing. This happens when Elasticsearch is under heacy load or excessive garbage collection. Compared to earlier versions, Elasticsearch 7. In this new system, when the cluster loses quorum, the cluster is unavailable until you take action. Loss of quorum can take two forms:. If your cluster uses dedicated master nodes, quorum loss occurs when half or more are unavailable. If your cluster does not use dedicated master nodes, quorum loss occurs when half or more of your data nodes are unavailable.

If quorum loss occurs and your cluster has more than one node, Amazon ES restores quorum and places the cluster into a read-only state. You have two options:.

Restore the cluster or individual indices from a snapshot. If you prefer to use the cluster as-is, verify that cluster health is green using the following request:.

If cluster health is red, we recommend restoring the cluster from a snapshot. You can also see Red Cluster Status for troubleshooting steps. If cluster health is green, check that all expected indices are present using the following request:.

Then run some searches to verify that the expected data is present. If it is, you can remove the read-only state using the following request:. If quorum loss occurs and your cluster has only one node, Amazon ES replaces the node and does not place the cluster into a read-only state. Otherwise, your options are the same: use the cluster as-is or restore from a snapshot.

The first informs you of the loss of quorum. The second occurs after Amazon ES successfully restores quorum. A red cluster status means that at least one primary shard and its replicas are not allocated to a node.

Amazon ES stops taking automatic snapshots, even of healthy indices, while the red cluster status persists.GitHub is home to over 40 million developers working together to host and review code, manage projects, and build software together.
